Art & Style in One...

Theses Bertoia Barstools really speak to me... I've always loved them, ever since the first time I looked at the original Knoll Furniture Catalog. I feel like they are one of those furniture pieces that truly transcend the boundaries of design. No matter where you find a Bertoia chair or bar stool, they seem to captivate they are in.

Timeless, elegant, sculptural, sexy and just really super cool. Although you can still get the original design through Knoll or Design Within Reach for $800-$1000 each, there are some really nice knock-off, re-pro's available through eclassicfurniture.com for about $139. That's a pretty good bang for the buck. Let's see, I need three and will be opting for the knock-off... That's $420 to completely transform the room. Not bad.

Harry Bertoia was an amazing guy. He wasn't an architect, but a sculptur and obviously a furniture designer for Hans and Florence Knoll. He's not known for his sculpture nearly as much as his furniture design. The fact is that the spectrum of this work is really spectacular. The Schiffer Design Book titled, The World of Harry Bertoia has compiled these works beautifully. Definitely a good one for the coffee table.
