Father's Day came a little early for Michael....  I got him The California Surf Project  from Chronicle Books.

The book is a travel diary of two California Surfers that go from No Cal to TJ in a VW Bus.  After Michael read the first few pages, I saw this daze in his eyes.  You could tell he was dreaming of his own Surf Safari.

I've already promised him a full surf day at San Onofre for his big Dad's Day gift...  When we go it's an all day, all night adventure.  we pack up the food, boards and beach gear the night before and get to the "Sano" gate at around 5:30am.  Once we're in, it's non-stop surfing eating and playing on the beach.  We always throw in a nap or two, but never leave before they kick us out at about 10:00pm.

He can't wait and me and the kids can't either...
